ADHD TESTING | DENVER, CO

ADHD Evaluations in Denver for Children, Teens, and Adults

Bright but behind. Capable but exhausted. Trying hard and still running out of time. If that sounds familiar, an evaluation can tell you why, and what will actually help.

OUR EVALUATIONS

Signs it may be time for an ADHD evaluation

ADHD isn't only hyperactivity, and it isn't a motivation problem. It affects attention, impulse control, and executive functioning: planning, organizing, starting tasks, and managing time and emotions.

In children

  • Homework that takes hours or ends in tears

  • Careless mistakes, unfinished work, lost belongings

  • Trouble sitting still, waiting a turn, or staying with play

  • Big reactions to small frustrations or transitions

  • Teacher reports of daydreaming or not following directions

In teens

  • Grades slipping as school demands more independence

  • Missing assignments despite understanding the material

  • Chronic procrastination and last-minute scrambles

  • Impulsive decisions, or friction over follow-through

In adults

  • Lifelong trouble with organization or deadlines

  • Restlessness, or difficulty focusing in meetings

  • Strategies that stopped working with more responsibility

  • Anxiety or low self-esteem from years of underperforming

  • A clear answer about whether ADHD explains the struggles, and what else may be contributing

  • Identification of any learning disability, so support targets the real problem

  • A report built for IEP and 504 meetings with DPS, Jeffco, Aurora, Boulder Valley, Douglas County, and other Colorado districts

  • Documentation for high school, college, and ACT/SAT accommodations

  • Information your prescriber can use if medication is being considered

  • Practical strategies for home, school, and work

Cost and insurance

  • An ADHD and learning disability evaluation at Panorama costs $2,900 - $3,500. For more complex questions, such as ADHD plus possible autism or a mood disorder, we may recommend a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation ($4,500).

  • We're out-of-network and provide superbills for possible reimbursement. Many families receive partial reimbursement through out-of-network mental health benefits.

ADHD Evaluations FAQ

Is an online ADHD screener or quiz enough for a diagnosis?

No. Screeners can suggest whether ADHD is worth exploring, but they can't rule out conditions that look like ADHD, such as anxiety, depression, sleep problems, or learning disabilities.

Do you evaluate adults for ADHD

Yes. We evaluate adults and college students at our Highland office in Denver, with reports typically delivered in 2–4 weeks.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed to schedule with Panorama. Some insurance plans may require one for reimbursement.

Does it include testing for dyslexia and other learning disabilities?

Often, yes. Learning Disabilities and ADHD often co-occur, so we always screen for learning concerns and evaluate if needed.

Can the report be used for school or testing accommodations?

Yes. Reports support IEP and 504 plans, college disability services, and ACT/SAT accommodation requests. Each district has its own process for Special Education evaluations, and they may still require their own educational evaluation.

Do you prescribe ADHD medication?

No. Panorama's psychologists don't prescribe medication. With your permission, we share your report with your pediatrician, psychiatrist, or primary care provider.

Should my child take ADHD medication on testing day?

We'll give you specific instructions at the first appointment. Never stop or change medication without talking with the prescriber.

School evaluation vs. private ADHD evaluation?

Schools evaluate for special education eligibility and often don't diagnose ADHD. A private evaluation provides a clinical diagnosis and broader recommendations, and can serve as a first or second opinion.

How much does ADHD testing cost in Denver?

At Panorama Psychology, an ADHD evaluation typically costs between $2,900-$3,500, including testing, a feedback session, and a written report.
