AUTISM TESTING | DENVER, CO

Autism Evaluations in Denver for Children, Teens, and Adults

You've probably been carrying this question for a while. A good evaluation gives you a clear answer, an explanation that actually fits your child (or you), and a plan for what comes next.

OUR EVALUATIONS

Signs it may be time for an autism evaluation

Autism looks different at every age. It often looks different in girls/women and in those who have learned to mask. Consider an evaluation if you notice patterns like these.

In young children

  • Little back-and-forth babbling, gesturing, or pointing to share interest

  • Speech that is delayed, or that developed and then stalled

  • Less interest in social games or other children

  • Strong reactions to sounds, textures, or changes in routine

  • Repetitive play or intense focus on particular objects

In school-age kids and teens

  • Friendships that are hard to make or keep

  • Sensory sensitivities with clothing, food, or noise

  • Trouble reading social cues, tone, or unwritten rules

  • Deep, focused interests that fill much of their time

  • Meltdowns or shutdowns after holding it together at school

  • Rigidity around routines and transitions

In adults

  • A lifelong sense of being out of sync with peers

  • Social interaction that feels exhausting or scripted

  • Anxiety, depression, or burnout that never fully explained things

  • Recognizing yourself in a child's autism diagnosis

Autism Evaluations FAQ

At what age can autism be diagnosed?

An experienced clinician can reliably diagnose autism as early as age 2-3, and at any age after that. Panorama evaluates children from age 3 through adulthood.

Do you evaluate adults for autism?

Yes. Adult autism evaluations are available at our Highland office in Denver, with reports typically delivered in 2–4 weeks.

What's the difference between a school evaluation and a private one?

A school evaluation determines eligibility for special education services; it is not a medical diagnosis. A private evaluation provides a clinical diagnosis and broader recommendations (including for educational purposes), and can serve as a first or second opinion.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed to schedule with Panorama. Some insurance plans may require one for reimbursement.

Does autism look different in girls?

Often, yes. Girls and others who mask are frequently diagnosed later or missed. Our psychologists look specifically for these less obvious presentations.

Will you also check for ADHD?

Autism and ADHD often occur together. Every autism evaluation screens for ADHD, anxiety, and learning differences

Is the evaluation in person or online?

Direct testing happens in person at our Highland office; some interviews and the feedback session may be by telehealth.

How much does an autism evaluation cost in Denver?

At Panorama Psychology, a comprehensive autism evaluation costs $3,500–$4,500, including testing, a feedback session, and a written report. You'll receive a final estimate after your consultation.
