About Dr. Dodson

Dr. Ana Dodson is a licensed psychologist candidate with two master’s degrees and a doctorate in psychology from the University of Colorado Denver. She specializes in working with children, teens, and families, providing compassionate, individualized therapy grounded in empathy and collaboration.

Dr. Dodson is EMDR-certified for both children and adults and has advanced training in the Neurosequential Model of Education developed by Dr. Bruce Perry - a neurobiological framework for understanding child development. She believes meaningful progress happens when parents are active participants in the therapeutic process and offers parent coaching and support to help families feel confident and connected.

In addition to therapy, Dr. Dodson provides comprehensive psychoeducational and psychological assessments to identify learning, attention, emotional, and behavioral challenges. With her background as a former teacher and reading specialist, she brings a unique perspective to her evaluations, understanding how academic and developmental difficulties can affect children and their families. Her assessments emphasize each child’s strengths while offering clear, actionable recommendations to support success at home and in school.

Dr. Dodson approaches every child and family with curiosity, compassion, and a focus on practical solutions. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, reading, traveling, and exploring Colorado’s beautiful trails.
