About Lauren
Lauren Burns is a licensed social worker (LSW) and a licensed school social worker. Lauren provides adolescent therapy, family therapy, and adult therapy at Panorama Psychology.

Lauren has extensive experience providing evidence-based therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Lauren also has a background in Restorative Practices, which focuses on communication and conflict management skills for teens, adults, and families. Her therapeutic approach combines these trusted therapy techniques with a warm and approachable style that is especially well-suited for teens and families.

Lauren loves working with teens and families on issues related to peer relationships, school concerns, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity development (including LGBTQ+ topics), family dynamics, stress management, and coping with life transitions. She is passionate about helping all of her clients navigate these challenges and develop the skills they need to thrive. Lauren strongly believes that the basis for therapy is trust and mutual respect, and she works hard to develop this with all of the people she works with.

Lauren has experience a variety of settings, but teens and families working with Lauren especially appreciate her background in the school setting. This background helps Lauren understand the intersections between family life, social life, academic experiences, and emotional wellness. She also has a strong understanding of the special education system (IEPs/504 Plans) and advocates for her clients to ensure that their needs are being met in all areas of their lives.
